Hermès opens a store on South Congress in Austin

The new store will be located at 1221 S. Congress Avenue. This will only be the brand’s third store in Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas – A new luxury brand is opening a physical store in Austin.

According to Austin Business Journal, Hermes will officially open April 30 and is located at 1221 S. Congress Avenue.

This will be the French luxury brand’s first store in Austin and its third in Texas. The other two are in Dallas’ Highland Park Village and Houston’s River Oaks District. In total, it has more than 300 stores in 45 countries.

Hermès is the latest luxury brand to open a boutique in Austin as the city welcomed Gucci, Saint Laurent and Hublot to The Domain in North Austin.

“Austin has experienced accelerated growth in recent years,” Hermes of Paris USA President and CEO Robert Chavez told the ABJ. “This growth continues, and after planning our store here for the past three years, we felt 2022 was the right time.”

The brand is famous for its handmade leather bags, but the store will also offer products like perfumes, jewelry and more, according to the ABJ.

“Reflecting the Texas desert landscape and the house’s craftsmanship, the new Hermès boutique seeks to engage customers in an ambience of idiosyncratic modernity and artistic craftsmanship,” the brand said on its website.

As far as pricing goes, what can you expect? The cheapest bag on the brand’s site costs over $2,000.
