It is significantly higher than the number of vacant units in August 2020, after the first lockdown, when there were 10 empty units, or around 25%.
Sheffield City Council is spending millions to buy buildings and fund renovations to repurpose unused space as offices, in a bid to inject people into the city centre. But there is no guarantee that other closures will not follow.
