Urban Betty Salon, an award-winning salon with two locations in Austin, TX, has created a line of clean, long-lasting hair care products that includes an unscented option for those with fragrance sensitivities.
Urban Betty’s new line is the result of founder Chelle Neff’s personal battle with migraines, which began when she was just seventeen. After learning that scents trigger a hormonal response that can lead to migraines, she was surprised to find that almost everything we keep in our homes has some kind of scent: essential oils, laundry detergent, candles, flowers and, of course, hair products. Chelle realized she couldn’t find – and therefore wanted to create – clean, long-lasting, fragrance-free products for herself and her customers.
“Urban Betty Haircare is my answer to the lack of unscented products on the market for me and others like me – who care deeply about the products they use in and on their bodies, sustainability and giving back to our communities. “, Chelle said. “You shouldn’t have to compromise your health to use a quality product that leaves your hair smooth, shiny and soft. I look forward to our customers, local and national, having access to products that make them look and feel feel surprising!”
Not only are Urban Betty Haircare and its packaging free of phthalates, but they are also free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, dyes, pore-clogging oils, and formaldehyde/formaldehyde releasers. It is gluten and soy free and not tested on animals.
