Luxury brands such as Chanel, Dior and Charlotte Tilbury – plus a champagne bar – are on offer under one roof as Harrods opens a beauty salon for Gateshead shoppers.
The new H beauty has now opened its doors at the Metrocentre where it has been designed as “an experiential playground” with a selection of big names to entice customers. They also include Dr. Barbara Sturm and cult favorites Huda Beauty and Vieve.
An elegant 48-seat champagne bar, serving cocktails and pastries, is an added attraction of the new store located in the lower town square of the Gateshead shopping center and reservations open at launch on Tuesdays for upcoming time slots to enjoy a glass of bubbly in the glitzy new surroundings. H beauty is only the fifth stand-alone store of its kind in the UK and is described as offering ‘unprecedented beauty utopia’.

Besides skincare and salon products, including a showcase for local brand Nursem, there’s a hair-drying area; a Perfume Bar with a wide range of scents and “game tables” for consultations, tests and make-up demonstrations. The idea is to have a place where beauty newbies and experts alike can check out some of the best brands in the industry and stock up on their favorite products.
A spokesperson said: “The latest addition to H beauty’s portfolio reflects Harrods’ commitment to creating luxury shopping experiences in new communities across the UK. In line with the ethos of inclusivity, d empowerment and self-expression at H beauty, Harrods’ buying team led by Beauty Director Annalize Fard and Head of Beauty Mia Collins have carefully curated a spectacular offering that offers something for everybody.” And the store’s ethos is to encourage people “to play, experience and celebrate their identity through beauty.”
Annalize added: “The launch of our fifth H beauty store in Gateshead marks another incredible milestone for Harrods. The expansion of our standalone H beauty stores shows our commitment to delivering premium beauty shopping experiences to communities outside of London. »
Gateshead customers will find Nursem among new brands such as Le Labo, Bond No.9, Monday Muse and Paula’s Choice. This local brand offers skincare products – developed with the help of nurses – to help combat the effects of incessant hand washing. And for every Nursem purchased, the brand will donate one month of hand cream to a nurse or midwife, the spokesperson said.
